Eurwyn Rees

Eurwyn Rees trained as an engineering pattern maker over forty years ago. This is a specialist type of woodworker who creates patterns for moulds and various industries such as casting foundries.

Eurwyn spent twenty years working at St. Fagans Natural History Museum in Wales. There he learnt the art of conservation and the ancient skill of the wheelwright.

The diverse nature of projects were remarkable and Eurwyn carried out works on horse drawn carriages, hearses, other restoration projects and even created reproduction Elizabethan furniture for the many visitors to enjoy.

Eurwyn is and always has been a countryside person at heart and loves nothing better than spending time with his family, friends and ever faithful Spaniel Sally.

Eurwyn and his family live in the beautiful and sleepy Welsh hamlet of Ystradgynlais in the magnificent Swansea Valley at the foothills of the Brecon Beacons.

For those of you interested, or struggling with a Welsh name, you pronounce Eurwyn as IRE (Ireland) followed by WIN (Sporting win - no mention of rugby!)
